Tony’s 40+ years with epilepsy

Wednesday 19th Mar
Hi, I’m Tony’s wife and have watched my husband ignore, manage and finally deal with his epilepsy over the past 29 years. 
He was first diagnosed at 25 while serving in the RAN as a submariner. Tony served from 1976 till being medically discharged in 2001. He then served as a public servant for the Navy until the stress of having seizures forced him to retire in 2019; about 6 months after an accident. Tony’s doctor retired and his new neurologist referred to a specialist clinic. We were able to get in to see them last year for a full weeks work up in hospital. What an amazing fountain of knowledge we gained. Since then, we have  thought about brain surgery, rearranged medicine, started therapies and still waiting for seizure stability. Epilepsy also creates other conditions and concerns that needs a lot more research. Every day is a blessing. Every day is different. Every day is …..
